Adapter Sleeves

Adapter Sleeve are the components which increases your bearing life by giving it a proper sitting. Bearing sleeve are generally used in locating bearings with a tapered bore into a cylindrical seat. Metric shaft sleeves can be used on a simple or step by step shafts. Adapter sleeves bearing are easy to install and require no additional location on the shaft. When adapter sleeves are used on plain shafts, the bearing can be located at any position on shaft. Used for fastening the bearing with tapered bore to a smooth shaft (maximum tolerance H10).

The shaft seat does not need to be machined to the precision tolerances for cylindrical mounting and heating is not required. Driving the bearing up the taper achieves the correct mating of the components and reduces the bearing clearance to the level dictated by the application. No additional location on the shaft is required. Total costs associated with tapered mounting are typically lower than cylindrical mounting. When used on stepped shafts together with an L-Shaped spacer ring, the bearing can be accurately positioned axially, thereby facilitating bearing mounting and dismounting.

Shaft adapter sleeves are cylindrical structure and industrial approved design. Adapter sleeves bearing are slit and supplied complete with a lock nut and lock washers / locking clamp or plate. Smaller sizes use a nut and lock washer. Large sizes use a nut and a locking clip or locking plate. Bearing sleeves also adapt to shaft diameter, so that wider diameter tolerances can be permitted compared to the seat of bearing with a cylindrical bore. They are always supplied with this complete set. Adapter sleeves are also known as adapter sleeves for metric shafts, shaft adapter sleeves, adapter sleeve, adapter sleeves bearing, bearing sleeves.
